I'm Stephie Hall and most of the jewellery on this site is my work.I believe that being an artist in any form is more a journey than an occupation, whether that art be writing, jewellery, painting, cooking of any of the million other art forms. Creativity is a way of life that brings joy to my existance and I feel priviledged to be able to live this way and share it with you.
I love colour and this reflects in my jewellery with a full rainbow of colours featuring in my designs, from vibrant, nature-inspired shades to soft pastels and everything in between! I make a range of beautiful, original jewellery using mainly 9 carat gold, Sterling silver, 14 carat gold-filled metal, Swarovski crystals, glass, ceramic and fimo beads. Almost none of my designs are repeated so most pieces are completely unique (pages will state if they're repeat designs).
I've been making jewellery for fifteen years, starting originally with semi-precious gemstones and plated metal but enticed by the richer colours available using manufactured crystal & glass (which are also ethically sound and free from conflict, unlike many gemstones).
I made my first piece of real jewellery when I was 17. I so wish someone had introduced me earlier! The short bout of metal work we did in school would have been so much more interesting if it had been jewellery focused and 3 years of secondary school art classes would have been far less excruciating if someone had explained you don’t need to be able to draw to be an artist.
I mainly work in Sterling silver and Swarovski crystal. I absolutely adore Swarovski - there is no better crystal product to work with and their huge range can satisfy even my obsession with colours. Occasionally I also produce pieces in gold filled or 9 carat solid gold because I love the warmer colour of yellow gold.
I'm currently teaching myself how to draw and paint and hope to become good enough to sell my work at some point in the future. I also hope to learn the arts of opal cutting and hot metalsmithing to add to my repetoire! At the moment all my work is made with cold connections - I don't use a torch or solder at all when I'm working (although sometimes I do use pre-soldered ready made components)
