Encaustic Wax Art PaintingsEncaustic Wax Art Paintings
Encaustic art uses hot wax to create stunningly vivid artwork which can range from classic landscapes to geometrically modern to chaotically abstract. It's not a very widespread art form and when people do recognise it, they tend to be familiar with the painting-with-an-iron method which incvolves using a small hot iron (like a mini clothing iron) to apply wax onto special encaustic card. I mainly produce abstracts with some forays into mixed media with ink, acrylics and anything else I can get my hands on! Sizes range from small, 6x4 framed size to large A1 framed size with a range of intermediate sizes.

Vermeil is Sterling silver plated with 22 carat gold.

Gold filled jewellery was recently described by the respected British Jewellers Association "Jewellery in Britian" magazine as "an economical alternative to solid gold" due to it's high quality and durability.
It is not the same as gold plated - it contains around 100x more gold and looks exactly like real gold because the surface IS real gold and its value is slightly higher than Sterling silver with a similar lifespan and durability.
